A dream of Louis Baldonieri and Brian Lukow was to put together a pop boy band with Broadway talent. Auditions for "Boy Wonder" soon began. Two hundred boys auditioned, but only 5 made it. These boys included Greg Raposso, Chris Trousdale, and the other three members' names are unkown.
They began working on their performances and auditioned for many record labels, but were not signed to any of them. They soon concluded the band was just "too young," and let the three unknown members go and began auditioning for Dream Street. Two hundred became 25, then 8, and then the final five members were picked.
On May 6, 1999, Dream Street, including Greg, Chris, Frankie Galasso, Matt Ballinger, and Jesse McCartney, was born! The group worked together and were signed to Lava/Atlantic Records. They began touring together soon after that. Their self-titled album, which included the hit single, "It Happens Everytime," even hit gold status!
Dream Street was almost to superstardom, like the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC, when a lawsuit pulled them down. It was the group and the families against their managment, DSE. Part way through the suit, it became DSE and the Trousdale family against the four other families. It was settled on August 7, 2002, in favor of DSE.
Greg, Frankie, Matt, Chris, and Jesse still remain friends. They are each doing their own projects, including solo albums, new bands, and acting.
